Club METRO is one of Japan’s longest-running independent music venues and a staple part of Kyoto’s underground nightlife. It hosts an eclectic programme of electronic music, live bands, DJ nights and arts events, attracting a creative mix of locals, students and visitors.
While not an LGBTQ-exclusive venue, it has long been associated with Kyoto’s arts scene, and it is home to the monthly drag party ‘Diamonds Are Forever,’ one of Japan’s longest-running queer club nights.
