Tokyo Pride 2026 Event: Kings of Kanto Taste the Rainbros!

Tokyo Pride 2026 is now only a couple of weeks away, so we hope you’re prepped and ready for the parade and the weekend-long event! But as well as the (hopefully) sun-drenched 6th and 7th of June, you should also be preparing for how you want to spend your evening. Today, we’re going to let you in on an event where you can have a fun night while giving to a good cause! Kneel, for now the Kings of Kanto approach!

All the Colors of the Rainbros!

Kings of Kanto is a drag king collective that is comprised mostly of queer women, trans masc, and non-binary performers. Since 2018, it has been a space for free exploration of gender expression for those who are often marginalized even in the already marginalized LGBTQ+ community.

On Saturday 6 June, the Kings of Kanto will be putting on a night of song, dance, and comedy to keep up the energy and thrill of Pride as the night gets dark! The theme this time? Taste the Rainbros! Don’t be fooled by the candy-sweet name, though: Kings of Kanto events are known for a little naughtiness, too! In-keeping with the theme of the event (and Pride itself, obviously) there will be a number of performers, representing the different colors of the rainbow! The kings for Taste the Rainbros will include Manny S. Plain, Edgar Allen Hoe, Himlockeそして Him/Beau.

Anyone who came by for their recent Valentine’s Day Beaux & Arrows event and enjoyed the stylings of the Saja Bros (inspired by the fictional villains of KPop Demon Hunters) will be thrilled to learn that there will be another group performance — as well as a special surprise!

Kings for a Cause

But the revelry of this royalty is more than mere frivolity: profits from the event will be donated to Rainbow Railroad. Rainbow Railroad is an international human rights organization that is dedicated to creating routes for at-risk LGBTQ+ people to escape any dangers that they are facing. Founded in 2006, it has spent twenty years not just engaging in advocacy to address the displacement of LGBTQ+ people, but also providing direct services to those in need.

In conjunction with its many volunteers in the community, Rainbow Railroad helps provide housing, livelihood, and community support. This is especially vital for asylum seekers and refugees who are fleeing their homeland from persecution as a result of their queer identity. Coming to see Kings of Kanto means that your contribution will go towards making the lives of LGBTQ+ people in need that much easier, perfectly reflecting the refracted light that embodies the diffuse unity of the queer community.
