Small steps, connecting, building relationships
The first Pride Parade was held in Hiroshima in October 2025.
With the slogan “Today I want to walk as myself,” 300 people, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, gathered.
I walked about 1 kilometer through the streets of Hiroshima.
It was a special time when I could feel you and me here, and also you living with us even when you’re not here.
This has become a sure source of strength for me to live on in the future.
The parade is a one-day festival, but our daily lives continue without interruption.
That’s why, wanting to build on the step we’ve taken, we’ve decided to hold the parade again in 2026.
Furthermore, this year, a photo exhibition will be held prior to the parade.
Through photographs capturing the daily lives of those affected who live in Hiroshima, we hope to give people a more realistic glimpse into our lives.
And most importantly, I want to tell you, who are living in this place right now, “You’re not alone.”
That is our greatest wish.
This year’s slogan is, “A small step, connects, and builds relationships.”
Even if it’s just a small step, by continuing to work together hand in hand,
May this connect you, and the future.
Why not take your first step here, in a way that’s within your reach?
