Tokyo Pride Beats 2025: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Culture and Music

Ariel Sarullo

What if I told you that there’s an annual LGBTQ+ music festival in Tokyo? Well…sort of. Tokyo Pride Beats is a collection of music and dance parties held every year in Tokyo in April. They usually take place at six different venues and all feature unique artists and music genres. In this way, Tokyo Pride Beats has a little something for everyone, since you can choose the parties that you want to attend or not based on the music and vibe you’re looking for.

What is Tokyo Pride Beats

Tokyo Pride Beats happens concurrently with Tokyo Rainbow Pride, an annual week-long LGBTQ+ pride celebration in Tokyo. It usually kicks off with the Happy Pride Tea Dance, a dance party that plays house music, K-pop and J-pop, and features more than 60 performers and over 40 gogo dancers and drag queens all dancing at the same time! This party happens on the evening after the Tokyo Rainbow Pride parade, and helps you let off some steam after marching for hours before.

Tokyo Pride Beats usually features five other dance parties at different venues around Tokyo, playing music genres such as techno, K-pop, disco and more. The final party of Tokyo Pride Beats is usually an after-hours shindig that runs from 5am to 8am on the last day of the festivities.

Keep reading to find out which dance party (if not all of them) is the right one for you!
