Muscle Girls is an Ikebukuro-based bar themed around wait staff entirely comprised of muscular women. As well as serving food and drink, the servers will, for varying prices, perform feats of strength to impress and amaze the clientele. Opened in 2020, it caters to people who like their women as strong as their drinks.
Today, we’ll take you through where you can find Muscle Girls, what you can expect to spend, and what you can expect to experience.

How Does Muscle Girls Bar Work?

Although it is possible to enter Muscle Girls Bar without a reservation, if it is full you will probably be denied entry. For this reason, we highly recommend that you reserve a spot beforehand. We will go into more detail on reservations below. Muscle Girls Bar is only for patrons aged 18 or over.
Because each reservation is a set time for all guests, with parties arriving almost in ‘shifts,’ there will probably be a line when you arrive. Once your QR code and reservation are confirmed, you will be ushered into the bar.
Drinks will be served by staff on arrival and throughout your stay, and last orders will depend on your reservation.
During your visit, the buff babes will show off their muscles by exercising, including doing pull-ups and pole dancing. Guests are encouraged to cheer on the waitresses and act as their motivational personal trainers. You can also pay extra for additional services, such as being lifted by the thighs by the waitresses, or even being slapped.
Prices, Menu and Reservations
Because this is a specialist bar, reservations take priority when it comes to seating guests. You can make reservations for groups of up to four. Be aware that you must be aged 20 or over to consume alcohol in Japan.
Here is a list of the different courses available and how much they cost as of August 2026:
| Course | Price |
|---|---|
| 30-Minute All-You-Can-Drink-Plan | ¥2,000 |
| 80-Minute All-You-Can-Drink Plan | ¥6,000 |
| Muscle Girl Show (Mondays only) | ¥6,000 |
| Favorite Idol Plan (One customer reservation only) | ¥8,000 |
For those attending without a reservation, there is the 30-Minute plan. Although advertised as 30-minute slots, our own experience is that you must pay for at least one hour, with the option of one 30-minute extension. Be prepared to bring at least ¥4,000 per person.
Reservations are made online using JapanTicket. The websites are available in English and Japanese. Payment must be made in advance and is not refundable on the day of the visit. You must also give a phone number that can be used to contact you in the event of sudden changes.
The 80-Minute Plan and Muscle Girl Show are both available for groups of 1-4. Only one person can attend the Favourite Idol Plan and they must make a reservation on the Japanese website. Because you must name your favorite staff member, this option is aimed more at repeat customers resident in Japan.
The All-You-Can-Drink Plan serves several sours, mixers and highballs, and one fresh-squeezed sour. You can see the full menu on the website. The 80-Minute Plan also includes on fresh-squeezed sour from your Muscle Girl and a protein drink. The Muscle Girl Show adds original bags for the guests to the offering.
Extra costs include: beer, additional protein drinks, and sours made with juice freshly squeezed by the waitresses.
What to Expect at Muscle Girls

This is a very different experience from a regular night at a normal bar. It is primarily a show-like event for those who are into athletic and muscular women. It is also a fun time for those who are just looking for something a little different.
Visitors can choose to have a relatively relaxing time, sipping drinks while chatting with their waitress. Or, they can get more involved in the evening, taking part in challenges like bench presses, or loudly cheering on their waitress as she exercises.
The drinks themselves are not complicated or sophisticated compared to a specialist cocktail bar. That said, the drinks are not the main draw of visiting Muscle Girls Bar. You are going for the fun of hanging out with friends and seeing women who defy typical Japanese feminine body standards.
However, be ready for bright lights, loud music, and a ton of things happening all at once throughout the night. There’s a lot of neon and blaring music against a hot pink interior. Those who are easily overwhelmed may want to consider whether or not this is the right place for them.
Muscle Girls Bar welcomes both photos and video. The menu even says, “The Muscle Girls love to have a camera pointed at them! Take lots of photos/videos and post them on social media.” Be aware that you should always follow the instructions of the bar staff, so do not take pictures if you are told not to.
Is Muscle Girls Bar Worth It?
The value of Muscle Girls Bar will depend on a few factors. First, if drinking with swole sweethearts doesn’t appeal to you, then you may get less out of this experience than others. On the other hand, if muscly girls do appeal to you, this will likely be a very fun night out.
Anyone looking for a quiet evening will also probably be better served going elsewhere. However, anyone who wants their evening to be loud and lively and wants to get involved will probably have a great time.
Finally, because the drinks are pretty simple, if you’re happy sipping on sours, mixers, and highballs during your time at the bar, then you will feel right at home. Anyone looking for drinks with a little more panache, though, might be a little disappointed.
