After the slightly quiet 2025 that saw few yaoi anime releases, we’ve been blessed in 2026 with a bunch of new shows — including some holdovers that were delayed last year! Today, we’re going to sit you down and take you through our TV listings of the major men-who-love-men anime releases from this year.
This means that we are absolutely not going to be going over shows released earlier than 1 January, 2026. Even if something came to a streaming service for the first time this year, it does. Not. Count. The order we’re listing these anime in isn’t an indicator of quality, but a purely chronological order of release.
And as a last little note, we’ve used the term ‘yaoi’ here, but we’re also including Boys’ Love (BL) shows, given the overlap between the two terms. Why have we used ‘yaoi’ in the title, you ask? Because it does well in search algorithms. That’s… that’s it. So, without further ado, let’s get into it!

I’ll Live a Long Life to Dote on My Favorite Stepbrother!

Known in Japan as Saioshi no Gikei wo Mederu Tame, Nagaiki shimasu! (最推しの義兄を愛でるため、長生きします!), this is an isekai (alternative world) series. The main character is reincarnated as a character in his favorite otome game (narrative-driven romance games aimed primarily at young women). However, he has been reborn as the sickly Alba, a character he knows is destined to die in the game — an event that will ruin the life of his favorite character, his stepbrother Orsis. Alba, then, resolves to do everything he can to avoid his fate and keep his beloved stepbrother smiling.
This show is a “light anime” of 12 four-minute episodes that premiered on 3 January on Prime Video (and 6 January on TV). Short and sweet, it’s a good pick for anyone looking for a quick fix of fantasy. Licensed by OceanVeil where available. It can be found on Prime Video in Japan.
Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter

Another isekai anime, called Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai (異世界の沙汰は社畜次第) in Japan. This time, diligent accountant Seiichirou Kondou falls into a portal and finds himself in a fantasy world, where he is given a job as the kingdom’s bookkeeper. A workaholic, Seiichirou drinks copious amounts of energy tonics to fuel his efforts, resulting in him falling deathly ill. He is saved thanks to Captain of the Guard Aresh Indolark using a healing spell. But because Seiichirou is not used to magic, it can’t be a one-and-done solution. There is only one form of ongoing treatment for him: regular hot sex with Aresh.
This anime stands out both for its satire of office life through the lens of fantasy, its adult main character, and the spicy romance between the two leads. First airing on 6 January, at a bingeable 12 episodes and one special in length, Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter can be found on Crunchyroll where available, and on Amazon Prime in Japan.
Go For It, Nakamura-kun!!

Hotly anticipated but tragically delayed last year, 2025’s loss is 1 April 2026’s gain. Called Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! (ガンバレ!中村くん!!) in Japanese, this romantic comedy is based on a manga of the same name. In this story, Okuto Nakamura is in love with his classmate, Aiki Hirose, but our painfully introverted protagonist finds it difficult to talk to anyone, let alone his unrequited crush. This means Okuto spends his time either fantasizing about speaking with Aiki, or trying to insert himself into situations where he will interact with him… often with hilarious results.
Although it’s a more modern story, praised for being more about identity than sex, Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! has a distinctly 1980s aesthetic and vibe. Anyone who enjoys the work of Rumiko Takahashi will probably get a kick out of this. You can stream all 13 episodes on Crunchyroll where available, or on Netflix if you are in Japan.
Perfect Addiction

Still ongoing at the time of writing, following its 8 July beginning, this is a more down-to-earth college anime. Perfect Addiction (パーフェクトアディクション) is the story of two handsome students, Akihito Kuji and Sae Takatsuki. Where Akihito is outgoing and a bit of a playboy, Sae is more distant and reserved. After Akihito is turned down by a woman who only has eyes for Sae, he confronts Sae about his attitude. Sae confesses that he is gay and has difficulty with intimacy and sexual satisfaction. So begins an intense physical relationship between the two.
Another light anime, each episode is roughly five minutes in length, perfect for a little pick-me-up when you have a moment. Be aware, this is the most adult and sexually explicit show on our list, and includes a forceful encounter scene early on. Licensed by OceanVeil where available, and it can be streamed on U-NEXT for anyone in Japan.
Upcoming and Announced BL Anime
That’s not all! There is one more yaoi anime on the horizon. Let’s take a sneak peek at…
Here U Are

Based on a Chinese boys’ love series (danmei), Here U Are is, like Perfect Addiction, a college-aged romance. Popular and confident student Yang Yu butts heads with Huan Li, who is more reserved and above-it-all. As time goes on, however, they begin to learn more about one another — and themselves — as they develop romantic feelings for one another.
While the exact release date is not yet known, Here U Are is one to look out for in the future. Crunchyroll has already announced that it will stream the show upon release.
