The art of gogo dancing has become very popular in Japan over the past few years, especially when it comes to gogoboys in gay bars. The phenomenon is now a highly sought after form of entertainment, and you can find many bars in Nichome that feature it. These muscular men posing, dancing, and flaunting their stuff in skimpy outfits are sure to make your blood flow.
A few weeks ago, we conducted interviews with four gogoboys who regularly perform at the bar Kingdom in Nichome. Meet Yuto Chiba, Shouta, Lum, and Leo.

Yuto Chiba’s Interview
What is gogo dancing?
It’s doing erotic dances on a stage. It’s a job!
What is your favorite outfit to perform in?
I like doing towel shows, is that how you say it? Towel shows.
What is your best memory at Kingdom?
Well, I just joined Kingdom recently. On Fridays and Saturdays, I work at Kingdom every week. Thankfully there is a stage, and the customers seem to enjoy the show.
How do you get ready to shine onstage?
What I usually do before the show is write the character for “person” three times on my palm, and then I swallow it.
My Thoughts
My Thoughts
Yuto Chiba is a very sexy and muscular gogoboy who goes so far as performing with just a towel on. He is obviously a funny character, as proven by his pre-show routine, and is very friendly when he chats. With several years of performing under his belt, he knows how to keep an audience entertained. You may have found your new Nichome daddy.

Shouta’s Interview
How long have you been a gogoboy?
It will soon be two years… one year and a half.
How did you get your first job as a gogoboy?
At first, I got an offer from the famous YouTuber “2nd Street”.
What made you want to become a gogoboy?
When I went to see a gogo event. They look very beautiful, it made me want to be like this person. On my Instagram profile bio, I wrote “it is my dream to become a gogoboy” and 2nd Street found it. And the rest is history.
Do you have any tips for others who want to be like you?
Such advice is difficult! Really, if you keep believing in what you want to become, it may really come true. I’m rooting for you!
My Thoughts
My Thoughts
Shouta is a cute gogoboy with a bit of experience already. He has a lot of charm and an infectious smile. His story of becoming a gogoboy is unlike any other and literally a fantasy come true, and keeps us dreaming for and about him. We can’t wait to see more of his campaign pictures for G-STATION.

Lum
About Lum
Lum is a Japanese gogoboy. He likes going to the gym, winter sports, partying, and going out with friends. He often does group shows or duets, at times with female gogo dancers. You can see all of his photos here.
Lum's Interview
How long have you been a gogoboy?
I’ve been doing this for less than a year. I’m still a novice.
What is the hardest thing about being a gogoboy?
The hardest thing, expressing myself in a cool way. The seniors are all doing a good job, but I haven’t fully expressed myself yet, so I’m going to do my best from now on.
What do you enjoy most about being a gogoboy?
Having fun, interacting with customers, toasting with everyone.
Craziest experience?
I was invited to a lesbian event. I danced with a lesbian dancer there, I have never been involved with lesbian people before, it was the most refreshing feeling.
My Thoughts
Lum is a down-to-earth, yet very handsome and sexy gogoboy. He is shy and still does not fully believe in his talent (even though we do), but he is very well-spoken. We wish him the best in developing his confidence.
His interview should come out soon on Japan Gay Guide’s Instagram page.
Reo
About Reo
Reo is a European gogoboy from Barcelona. He graduated from Catalonia Film School, and now works in the daytime in editing and post-production. Gay and proud, he loves to perform.
Reo's Interview
How long have you been a gogoboy?
It’s my third time being a gogoboy here, and I look forward to give us a show tonight. Otherwise, for three months. I did my debut at King, actually.
How much do you make a night as a gogoboy?
I have a flat rate, and I hope it gets bigger and bigger, for my appearance, but tipping-wise, up to 5000¥ a night, if I do a great show and people is high motivated.
What is your flat fee to book you?
I actually don’t do it for money, I do it because it is quite fun and I can give a show. I think there are not many Caucasian gogoboys here, so the fact that I got the chance is quite fun.
How long do you work per night?
Until 3am. From 9 to 3.
What made you decide to become a gogo dancer?
I’ve been asked to do so! They saw a picture of me on Instagram and asked me to do so. I have many friends who do it professionally. I think it’s quite a fun thing to do, I love to dance, I love to be sexy and right now in these times, to show some skin, is really fun. I am into it, maybe I have a fetish, I don’t know!
My Thoughts
Reo is a very attractive Spanish gogoboy. His interview shows that he is very proud and comfortable with himself. He also seems super friendly and smiles a lot. For those who like hairy foreigners, he is the one!
His interview should come out soon on Japan Gay Guide’s Instagram page.
Conclusion
Gogoboys are not just pieces of meat for one to enjoy! They all have different personalities, motivations, and dreams. It is lovely to see them express themselves about their profession that is still highly stigmatized in Japan.
Don’t forget to visit Kingdom to meet those lovely gogoboys!
